Why did you enter the Young Scientist Challenge?
I entered the 3M Young Scientist Challenge because I'm interested in working on science projects and I believe innovation can make the world a better place. I was the Virginia State Merit winner in the 3M Young Scientist Challenge competition last year and that also inspired me to enter the contest again this year.
What is your favorite invention of the last 100 years, and why?
I think the best invention of the last 100 years is Artificial Intelligence. Artificial intelligence simplifies our daily lives and learns new things based on statistical methodologies. From healthcare to airplanes to self-driving cars to agriculture, artificial intelligence makes things better, safe and can help save lives.
In 15 years I hope to be...
an Immunologist. I developed an interest in immunology when I participated in Science Olympiad in 5th grade and got to study immunology. Immunologists cater to the several different diseases from Cancer to Infectious diseases. Immunologists help develop vaccines for infectious diseases like COVID-19 and also immune cell-based therapies to cure cancer all of which can help improve health of people around the world.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known and I believe science shows the path to discover that something incredible.
