Round 3 - The Innovation Challenge

Innovation is more than invention. It is about combining, altering or enhancing an existing technology in a new way to solve a need. Finalists were challenged to identify a safety or security problem in today"s society and then use a 3M product in a new and innovative way to present a solution. The finalists began working on their inventions at home and then presented their innovations to the judges. Their creative inventions included a wound closure system to protect deep cuts, a shoe lace that does not become untied, temporary protective window film and a safety PIN to protect again ATM fraud.
