Round 2 - The Food Safety Challenge

Finalists learned that keeping food safe for consumption is an important and complex scientific undertaking. During this challenge, the finalists tested the truth behind the five-second rule to find out if food really is safe to eat after it's been on the ground. After a training session with the 3M Judges, the finalists performed their first food "drop" on a variety of test floor surfaces and preserved their samples overnight. Finalists then performed a similar food "drop" the next morning before they analyzed their results and presented their findings.
